Oral Surgery

It’s important for you to know, we have an Oral Surgeon on staff – there’s no need to refer you anywhere else.

At Southwest Dental Group we know when you are in pain, you want quality treatment fast. With our advanced technology and panoramic digital ‘x-ray’ equipment, our Oral Surgeon is able to advise you of the best treatments available for you. Our sleep dentistry Certified Oral Sedation specialists and Anesthesiologists are ready to help you be comfortable.

Some of the specialty areas our Oral Surgeon covers are:

Extractions and Wisdom Teeth
If you are in need of a difficult tooth extraction, an oral surgeon is often recommended. Wisdom teeth, often called third molars, are the last set of teeth to develop. Sometimes these teeth emerge from the gum line and the jaw allows room for them, but often, this is not the case. Sometimes one or more of these third molars fails to fully emerge through the gum line and becomes "impacted" between the jawbone and the gum tissue. Impacted wisdom teeth can become quite painful if not surgically removed.

Tooth Loss Corrected With Dental Implants
In conjunction with our Prosthodontist specialist, our Oral Surgeon can provide dental implants. An implant is an option for tooth loss due to an accident or infection or as an alternative to dentures. Implants are tooth root substitutes that are surgically anchored in place in the jawbone and act to stabilize the artificial teeth to which they are attached.
