Free Cleaning & Exams from 1 to 12 Years of Age ($126 value)

Southwest Dental Group has Pediatric dentists trained in the special care of children. Just as you plan your child’s immunization schedule at the pediatrician, likewise your child’s dental health should be thought of as a priority.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first visit to the dentist occur by 12 months of age. Our staff pediatric specialist will help make your young one feel safe. We have dedicated an entire wing to children. From waiting area to treatment rooms, children enjoy the fun and bright visuals. You are welcome to accompany your child into the treatment area during the initial exam. The doctor will be gentle and friendly.

Your children from 12 months to 12 benefit with:
> free initial toddler evaluation of their head, neck, gums and teeth
> information about diet, fluoride, finger and pacifier habits
> free cleaning and exams through 12 years ($126 value)
> help in learning proper brushing and flossing
> pediatric sedation techniques in order to avoid traumatic experiences

State Law as of January 1, 2007
Visit to a dentist is now part of getting ready for school
.
Under a California state law, children must have a dental checkup by May 31 of their first year in public school.

The California Dental Association, which sponsored the legislation, said the law was intended to raise awareness of the importance of dental health. Dental disease is a common cause of absences.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that parents take infants to the dentist by their first birthday for screening and preventive tips.

Parents can receive financial assistance through government health programs, such as Healthy Families and Medi-Cal. Both provide dental care for low income families.
