Digital x-rays equal less radiation

Southwest Dental Group is a totally modern 21st century all-digital facility. From your initial input data and appointment scheduling to the invaluable use of digital radiographs to detect, diagnose and plan your treatment, our dentists have the latest technology to take care of you. You also enjoy the benefits of listening to CDs or watching DVDs during your procedures on our 19” LCD screens – all accessed via the computer.

Digital Radiographs
Our Board Certified and specialty dentists learn a lot about your oral health through a visual exam of your gums and teeth. But there are conditions that cannot be seen and evaluated without the help of technological tools. Enter a new type of x-ray, called a digital radiograph. The procedure is simple. We place a small sensor on the outside of your cheek. It sends a signal to the computer, which then translates into large, crisp, electronic pictures of your teeth, bone and gums. The images can be enlarged for easy diagnostic viewing. Our dentist can show and explain your conditions right on the LCD display next to your chair. The images are stored in your file for future reference.

You benefit with:
  • less radiation, 90% less than traditional film x-rays
  • instant imaging, saving time during your visit and treatment
  • the dentist in the room with you, with no need to wear a lead apron
  • easy viewing of your teeth, bones and gums for your treatment explanation
  • the fact that there is no film, eliminates harmful chemical waste
Panoramic Digital Radiographs
At Southwest we also have a panoramic digital radiograph machine. The patient stands in one place and the machine travels around their head to obtain full mouth pictures. These images are immensely helpful for Reconstructive, Prosthodontic (Implants), Orthodontic (Braces) and Oral Surgery treatments. The process is easy, fast and painless.
Digital radiographs make it is for our dentists to explain exactly what treatment is needed to correct a condition.
